This winter, escape to the otherworldly tranquility of Fogwood Gardens amid the quiet woods of Arrowsic, just beyond Bath, Maine. Settle in beside the wood stove in the cozy Fogwood Yurt with fellow poetic spirits to nurture your creativity and expand your writing practice with poet Stevie Trevino. Stevie will guide you through simple exercises & gentle prompts designed to clear your creative channels and allow inspiration to flow. Each class, we will use timed writing exercises to explore various tools including themes, metaphors, sensation, and perspective. Then Stevie will write a poem based on your suggestions and teach from her own poetry created in the moment. Afterwards there will be a longer timed writing session with prompt, followed by time to share. Writers of all skill levels are invited to participate in this 5-week long generative writing workshop. Journals and pens will be provided. Class meets on Thursdays from 5-6pm. There is optional time to share & mingle until 6:30. About Stevie Trevino Stevie Trevino is a live typewriter poet based in Portland, Maine. She is the creator of Stevie’s Poem Store, an interactive performance art pop-up that brings the co-creative experience of spontaneous typewriter poetry to public spaces and private events. Stevie’s inspirations include transpersonal experiences, Jungian psychology, nature, and time. About The Fogwood Yurt The Fogwood yurt is located in the heart of Fogwood Gardens and offers an intimate interior space that will be warmed with a woodstove. Enjoy the creature comforts of a full kitchen to warm up tea, indoor composting toilet, and a front deck in line with the tree canopies. The yurt was created with the intention to apply perspective on the surroundings, and to invite feelings of relaxation.
